Indexing and Production In addition to copy editing and substantive editing, described in Editing Levels, we can also assist you with indexing and production if your documents require this. Indexing It is generally recommended that documents of more than 30 pages should include an index, especially documents like directories and user manuals. We go through the document, select the entries and sub-entries, and build the index as required. Production We prepare your documents for printing and then see them safely through the printing process. The first phase involves creating the final artwork, which can also involve managing the work of a graphic designer or illustrator. The second phase involves defining the printing and binding specifications with the printer, and then ensuring that the finished work meets quality requirements.
